hmm do you happen to know what that chinese word is? :D

i could stare at this for ages and think about the significance of it [if there's any in the first place]. to look, what an amazing ability that we all take for granted.

very nicely done, especially the '中文' part :D

Yes ;)

如果你看这图片,你会看答案是绿(不是蓝)。

Pixelling chinese characters - especially when small or with only a couple of colours - can be very troublesome. Particularly (of course) the far more complicated characters... I tend to opt for icons instead of chinese text on menu buttons etc in games as they tend to require far less space to be both readable and understandable.

yeah i agree :D i don't actually pixel myself, but i can imagine the horror...especially if you're doing the olden script kind, or 繁体字 >< or are some parts of china still using 繁体字 and not 简体字?

hmm but i guess that'd only happen if you go over to taiwan someday...

p.s - i still don't really get the part about why the answer is green and not blue o.O

Well pretty much everything here in mainland China is simplified these days.. unless you are trying to be pretentious or trying to give off an air of tradition and historical value.

As for why one is green - it is because you must select the correct answer to progress to the next question. You have a time limit per question (bar on the left - which runs out / empties as time passes) and depending on how quickly you answer you get points added to the bar on the right (which fills up). The quicker you answer, the more points you get. The quicker you fill the right hand bar, the better.

There are several thousand characters - split into varying levels of difficulty (though not so well ordered as I took them from assorted online open-source chinese dictionary lists)

Wow... I would have loved such a program when I was studying Mandarin. Still would love it, to be honest, even though my knowledge has slipped back into non-existence.

Very smooth design, and quite nice-looking. I like your choice of colors. Everything is just incredibly well-done. ^_^
